CalDAV is an WebDav extension specificaly designed for accessing iCalendar files (*.ics). Those .ics files are subscribable as long as they are stored on a CalDav server. If the owner of that file changes information of that .ics calendar file, users who have subsribed to that file automatically will receive those changes as well.
My question is: Let's say I would extract the data out of the .ics file into a database. I could dynamicaly create a .ics file out of this data via a php website. The problem I have is, to make this dynamicaly created .ics file subscribable. This way I could change the data in the database, and all users who have subscribed to the generated .ics file will get an update.
If my idea is not possible and I really would need to store the pure .ics file on a CalDav server: What would be the best way to combine the data that I need to read out of the .ics file with meta-data of a database?
