When using Oracle RAC with either Fast Connection Failover or TAF (Transparent Application Failover), for a given database connection, is SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV', 'INSTANCE') going to change when there's an automatic failover?

(I can't test right now, not having a RAC instance available on hand.)

Will take me as long as you to setup a test case for it. Sorry! Ask Oracle support. – Phil Jan 22 '13 at 22:47

I'm just asking someone who knows or has the right setup available, no need to downvote just because you're not willing or able to help. – Florent Guillaume Jan 23 '13 at 8:30

And to answer the implicit question, I don't have Oracle licenses or support. I'm developing open source software for Oracle but would like to cover all bases. – Florent Guillaume Jan 23 '13 at 8:30

I would consider it a bug if it didn't change, but I haven't tested it. – Leigh Riffel Jan 24 '13 at 18:34
