Database Administrators Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for database professionals who wish to improve their database skills and learn from others in the community. It's 100% free, no registration required.

i have a sync script that queries several different wordpress databases every 15 minutes to keep a main "feed" table up to date. it totals approximately 50,000 queries (99% of them are Selects, for meta, etc)... it takes approximately 10 seconds to run these queries every 15 minutes. is this a bad idea or will it not bother performance too much to do that many selects?
