I have recently upgrated my DB machine - mainly upgrated disks from 10k to 15k and RAID 5 to RAID 10. I have done some pgbenchmarking:
old db benchmark:
tps = 608.115370 (including connections establishing) tps = 644.397094 (excluding connections establishing)
new db benchmark:
tps = 867.269099 (including connections establishing) tps = 960.365769 (excluding connections establishing)
What worries me a bit, is that on new db, the difference of incl. and excl. establishing is bit higher than on old one. Just to note, postgresql.conf is same on both machines (only difference is that new db got
effective_cache_size = 16GB, not 8GB like old).
Could anyone just have a look at those numbers and tell me it's fine or not?
