We have SQL Server 2008 R2 32 bit installed on the following hardware:

  1. CPU: Intel Xeon E5310 @ 1.60 GHz
  2. RAM: 4 GB
  3. HDD: Raid
  4. Server: HP Proliant 120
  5. OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard Edition, Service Pack 2, 32 bit

The issue is that initially we run the application and when we try to open the first form from menu it takes time to open the form, and when we click on save it really takes time. When we restart entire server and we try we open the form again and save it, it really works very fast, but by the end of day it again gets slow and the entire server needs to be restarted.

Have a look at my blog post here to see if any of it applies (I have a feeling it does). Also, see this question and its answers. – Jon Seigel Apr 24 '13 at 13:26
What is the Max Memory for the instance and are you running a stand alone instance or multiple instances on the same 2003 windows server ? – Kin Apr 24 '13 at 13:29
