I have sample data warehouse stored in the form of mdf and ldf format. I want to use any ETL tool to extract data and then load datawarehouse on the specified database with username, password and destination information. I have downloaded JAspersoft etl but it seems it doesnot support. How can I extract data on the mdf and ldf file and construct datawarehouse on the specified database ? If you know, feel free to recommend etl tool which can do so ?

NOTE: sample datawarehouse is AdventureWorksDW2012 which is stored in the mdf and ldf file format

If you already have a data warehouse database (i.e. AdventureWorksDW2012), why do you need an ETL tool? What do you want to achieve with it? –  Marek Grzenkowicz May 22 '13 at 8:49

@MarekGrzenkowicz I want to be familiar with ETL tools. Ifterwards, I will get dirty data sets and then do ETL operation on them to build data warehouse. I donot have any people around me to guide about data warehouse, etl, olap and olpt. I am trying to learn by myself. OK? –  gcc May 22 '13 at 8:53

If you want to learn the tools, just use any database or a flat file or an Excel spreadsheet as a source. –  Marek Grzenkowicz May 22 '13 at 12:11

The only 'tool' that can read an MDF and LDF is an appropriately versioned edition of SQL Server. You need to install a SQL Server instance, attach the database to it and then use your preferred ETL tool to connect to this SQL Server and read data from the database.
