I am working on some commenting system and I have some doubts. Firstly, my question is which model would perform faster for "find conversation and show it and its comments with specific attributes"? And which DB is best for appropriate model.

I wanted to chose model 1 for DynamoDB, but it supports only 64KBs per "row", and for model 2 index limitation is 10 GB. Another option is Amazon RDS (MySQL), but I am affraid it may be slow for this demand. Cassandra is just to expensive as hosted solution (since I had no experience on maintaining DB, so I cannot host it myself)

Can you please help me decide or open my eyes on something 3rd?

**Model 1**
CONVERSATION_ID [1]
comment_text(1), userID, timestamp;
comment_text(2), userID, timestamp;
CONVERSATION_ID [2]
comment_text(1), userID, timestamp;
comment_text(2), userID, timestamp;

or

**Model 2**
COMMENT_ID [1]
comment_text, conversation_ID, userID, timestamp;
COMMENT_ID [2]
comment_text, conversation_ID, userID, timestamp;
  • Attributes of conversations are in another table.

Some particular questions:

  1. Which model will perform faster for "find conversation and show it and its comments with specific attributes"?

  2. Which 3rd model would you recommend for hi-performance commenting system, and which db?

Thanks guys!
