I want to carry out the partitioning activity. I am using oracle 11g R2. In case of error occurs while partitioning I might loose the data. On safer side I want to take backup of the database and if any error caused in the partitioning activity I can restore the same database.

Now question is how should I take backup?

Please keep in mind that DB size : 100 GB I want index, constraints and all details of table while restoring (Please don't suggest me to create index) Is there any automatic way to handle index?

What about Flashback Table query? Can I use it?

P.S : In partitioning activity DDL gets changed.

Unless your storage solution offers some fancy backup options, you should use rman to backup and restore Oracle databases. –  Colin 't Hart Dec 11 '13 at 10:23
