I have installed IBM DB2 version 10 on windows server 2008 r2 machine. However i am unable to open it's command line window.

For example: Whenever i try to open Command Windows - Administrator it appears and disappears in seconds. I happens for Command Window option as well in Db2.

When i open a cmd window and type db2cmd it does not do anything ? The only thing that works is the command line processor window.

What am i missing ?

Did you check the Windows Event Viewer? That should give you an indication of the problem. What does it show? – Chris Aldrich Dec 16 '13 at 22:04
Under Windows Logs --> Application i see entries like started and stopped for Db2 .. is that the right place to check for an indiciation under EventViewer ? – Marshell Dec 16 '13 at 22:22
Yes. Some of the diagnostic logging for DB2 on Windows happens in the Event Viewer. I would look under there and look at the entries pre and post to see what may have happened to cause the issue. Let us know what you find. – Chris Aldrich Dec 17 '13 at 2:40
I just reinstalled DB2 on my machine and it worked fine.. not sure what was the problem at the first place. – Marshell Dec 21 '13 at 7:39
Let's chalk it up to a Windows (probably registry) thing. ;) – Chris Aldrich Dec 24 '13 at 2:30
