I am a programmer and I have been asked to identify a Sql Server Edition suitable for our intranet web site.

  1. There will be 15 users connecting to web site. But we use one windows account to connect
    to the Sql Server.

  2. It is a small application and the storage may go up in about 500 mbs per year.

I am thinking Sql Server 2008 R2 Standard edition will do. Please let me know your thoughts.

You can have the express edition if the database is less than 10GB. –  ypercube Mar 18 at 16:58

This question appears to be off-topic because it is about product licencing for a specific situation. Please call Microsoft for assistance. –  Jon Seigel Mar 18 at 16:59

Is there any specific reason you have to use 2008? I'd use 2012 if you're starting from scratch. –  Mansfield Mar 18 at 17:06

...or 2014 if you wait a couple of weeks. –  Aaron Bertrand Mar 19 at 2:39

If you re-word this so it is clearly about product capability and not licensing, it will stand a better chance. If it's really just about what edition you need to satisfy usage/connectivity, you will need to contact Microsoft. We can't give licensing advice. –  Aaron Bertrand Mar 19 at 2:58
