As of now, My application is running on dedicated windows DB server which configuration is below:

RAM           8.00 GB
Processor     Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5460 @3.16GHz,
OS            Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition Service Pack 1
System Type   64 bit
MySQL version 5.1.58-community-log

Dedicated LINUX server configuration is below:

RAM           2.00 GB
Processor     Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU  E7540  @ 2.00GHz
OS            Oracle Enterprise LINUX 5
System Type   64 bit
MySQL version 5.1.73-community-log

Please note that I am doing this server migration activity for performance improvement only. - What other configuration should I compare before considering parameters tuning? - For parameters tuning - in which ratio should I assign the value of MySQL parameters? For example, if value of innodb_buffer_pool_size=2GB on Windows server then will it be 512M on LINUX server?
