I am trying to implement a materialized view which would Fast refresh on commit. I have created materialized view logs on base table as well but i am faced with the following error.

ORA-12052: cannot fast refresh materialized view DATA23.MVIEW1

MATERIALIZED VIEW

CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW MVIEW1
CACHE
USING INDEX
REFRESH ON COMMIT
FAST
USING DEFAULT ROLLBACK SEGMENT
DISABLE QUERY REWRITE AS
SELECT PERSON.ID AS PRIMARY_KEY,
    PERSON.ID PERSON_ID,
    PERSON.CITY_ID CITY_ID,
    PERSON.NAME PERSON_NAME,
    PERSON.GENDER GENDER,
    PERSON.STATUS STATUS,
  FROM PERSON, CITY_
  where PERSON.CITY_ID = CITY_.ID

What is city_? I don't see it in your from clause. Please describe your tables and keys. I hope neither of person or rank_ are views? –  Colin 't Hart May 28 at 17:47

Just curios - have you looked at documentation?.... to your question: ORA-12052

You need something like

CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW MVIEW1
...<some options here>
REFRESH WITH ROWID
...<other options here>
AS
SELECT *
