I'm trying to decrease execution time of the a query. Using SHOW PROFILE, FULLTEXT initialization takes about 0.3, which is too high. Other values are at normal level.

How can I decrease FULLTEXT initialization time? Any suggestions?

Once I figured out FULLTEXT initialization is the problem i created this question. Please see MySQL fulltext selection performance for more information

Non answer, but consider moving search functions outside of mysql into something like elastic search – atxdba Jul 24 '14 at 19:34

There are some suggestions here, but most are InnoDB related: mysqlperformanceblog.com/2013/07/31/… Your problems seems setup-dependent, as I cannot replicate them. – jynus Jul 25 '14 at 8:11
