About

Object-relational mapping is a programming technique that allows applications to work with the data as objects, but store the data in a database as groups of simpler values.

There are a variety of difficulties that arise when considering how to match an object system to a relational database. These difficulties are referred to as the object-relational impedance mismatch. An alternative to implementing ORM is use of the native procedural languages.
