MySql master and slave design Yes, it's incorrect to write to slaves (check this article for details on how replication works). You can try to use such things as MySQL Proxy as intermediate layer separating application and db. But in our case we actually modified database-access layer so that all write ops are done at master only. |

Too many records on database and how to handle it? MySQL is it good to clone? Your question in its current form is way too broad. First, you didn't mention what exactly is supposed to be stored in DB - a blob or a link (and it does matter). Second, you didn't describe a single bit of how you intend to use this data (it terms of reading AND updating). Still, I'd suggest checking this part of MySQL docs in any case. |
