Invalid use of side-effecting operator 'INSERT EXEC' within a function Aaron Bertrand - I'm looking to send in a SQL query as @SQL and return a delimited list of the results. |

Invalid use of side-effecting operator 'INSERT EXEC' within a function Lamark - so I would want to use a stored procedure to accomplish this then it sounds like. |

Advice about Backup Solution Thanks Thomas. It's not that we can't do a full backup. A full backup or differentials by themselves don't get me much further than the file level. Sounds like I need to talk to them about how long they store the transaction log backups for and make sure I can get a hold of them. |

Only a single WITH MOVE clause should be specified for any logical file name Isnt backup name supposed to be the name of the backup database? Or do I need to specify that it is the backup databases mdf and ldf files respectively? |

User already exists error Thank you. I need to talk with the company owners and the director of development to see if this will work. Are there any security pitfalls to scripting this as a backup and restore? |
