... and then you have a broken database server because you have "probably" deleted some of the mysql system tables... besides the fact that your CONCAT produces a table list without schema reference.

Ok, try this: gcc -m64 -fPIC -Wall -I/path/to/your/mysql/basedir -I. -shared lib_mysqludf_sys.c -o /path/to/save/your/new/lib_mysqludf_sys.so

@Alasdair according to this formula 100 - ((key_blocks_unused * key_cache_block_size ) * 100 / key_buffer_size ) your cache hit ratio is 100% so it seems that your key_buffer_size is too small. Can you post the size of your table(MYI and MYD) and the index_length (SELECT INDEX_LENGTH FROM information_schema.tables WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = <yourschema> AND TABLE_NAME = <yourtable>;)? Than we can try using Multiple Key Cahce...
