Database developer for SQL-Server and ORACLE. Doing a lot with PowerShell.

I'm German and it is now only 4 years that I started bloging (in english) and now i'm contributing to several OpenSource Projects. Codeplex SQLPSX is the most important of them. There I'm porting SQLIse to Oracle and now to MySQL too.

If your are interested in databases and PowerShell (or other ways to use ADO.NET) please visit: http://sqlpsx.codeplex.com/

I renamed 4 oracle databases on a Windows Server this way. Searching for dbnewid utility I found oracle-base.com/articles/9i/DBNEWID.php which gave some additional explanations.

comment How to return a CTE as REFCURSOR from an Oracle stored procedure?
I started with one complete example. I think the the question deserves at least another example using input parameters. The special problem of sql-server -> Oracle migration pitfalls deserve(s) its own question(s).

I agree. I googled about it half an hour an found no simple example which led me in the right direction. I only found it by the usual tactic of commenting out portions of the code. I guess this will soon become a CW.

I'm using sqlcmd as replacement for osql myself, but I'm not using the new features. I want to know if those where used.
