comment Transaction Log won't shrink, DB thinks it is replicating
Downtime isn't a significant issue with the database since it's simply running a centralized update/licensing server for our AV. [Also it was down for a few days before I noticed] However, as I mentioned in the comments, we're primarily a Linux shop and this is our only MSSQL instance. Also the backup is 180GB+, so shipping it out to an external provider is not an option either.

@Kin yes, I've tried sp_removedbreplication. You've also got incorrect syntax there. CDC is not enabled.

@JohnM that's something I've been considering, but unfortunately we're primarily a Linux shop and this the the only MSSQL instance we've got. If all else fails getting a real license might be our only recourse.

@Peter there are no subscriptions to clean up, and I've been trying sp_removedbreplication from the start.

comment Trouble setting up Nagios to monitor Oracle services
The only folders I have in $ORACLE_HOME are bin and lib. I've created network/admin and copied tnsnames.ora from the database server, but now I just get a CRITICAL - cannot connect to OFFDB1. ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach). I'm getting the feeling that this network folder should have already existed.

It doesn't seem like I have one at all, but I think I may have found one I can use. It is just supposed to live in $ORACLE_HOME?
