Isn't it possible to restore database in NoRECOVERY with full backup of 19th and take a tail log backup from current database and restore it as Julien suggested.

@MaxVernon: I am thinking on the same lines. I would keep this answer open for more edits/comments for another 1-2 days until I research more on this. Thanks for your help :)

@RohitGupta: I am not questioning them. It's just I am trying to think on the same lines what could have been a reason they came up with this restriction.

If so, why the limit has been raised to 1700 in sql server 2016. What different MS has done in this release.

In case of disaster, you mean (Full backup + Last Differential + All log backups except last log backup) under norecovery then last log backup with recovery option to bring database online?

Thanks for the link, It helped to gain some more understanding. I am just wondering if differential backup also takes backup of mdf, ldf and all ndf files from the point after full backup was taken. If this is true, then ldf must be having log records only after from last differential backup was taken. Is that correct?
