comment Wait Stats, Server Up Time and CXPACKET
@Aaron CXPACKET waits are taking up %78 of the total waits and second is LATCH_EX taking up %9. In regards to knowing if I have a performance problem, I don't know really as I haven't had any complaints from end users, when would you consider there to be an issue when looking at waits? I was trying to work out waits against server up time to determine if the system was waiting more than it was "doing work", but thats where my initial question arose. I will do a search of the plan cache to look for specific parallel plans.

comment TempDB Log Space and ACTIVE_TRANSACTION
I stupidly ran the CHECKPOINT so now have NOTHING as the log_reuse_wait_desc. In terms of the space its 1GB chunks and 26GB left. I tried to use sys.fn_trace_getinfo to find any auto growths but didn't find any which is also confusing.

Thanks for the detailed answer. On the point of shrinking does a shrink remove inactive VLFs regardless of where they are in the log?

comment SSRS minus first two dates as the header
Yes I think I will look at doing it that way instead.

comment SSRS minus first two dates as the header
It means in some cases I got high positive numbers and in others negative numbers, which don't add up if doing a subtraction. It does support the DATEADD() and DATEDIFF() functions, however I don't know how to reference only the first two items of data in the column.
