First and foremost, I am a problem solver. I am a thinker, an innovator, a leader, hands on teacher, a mentor. I enjoy complex and mentally stimulating work, and I am most comfortable being tasked to find solutions to problems that others could not, or to solve complex tasks in elegant ways. I am comfortable coordinating teams with concurrent projects, or working solo. I have experience designing and architecting applications from the ground up. I can envision a product or enhancement, create a project plan, coordinate meetings with business owners, educate the customer on the new product, and work it from start to finish.

I specialize in data driven solutions, managing database systems, developing database driven applications, and facilitating scalable access and use of structured data stores for searching and reporting. Specifically implementing business intelligence solutions, allowing for rapid and flexible data analysis, searching, reporting, profiling, and custom analytics.

I have extensive knowledge of SQL Server database systems from 2005+, from storage mechanics and concurrency mechanisms, to optimizing queries and data storage methodologies to maximize data throughput and reduce excessive waits and bottlenecks. I have a thorough knowledge of the query execution process for SQL Server, and I am comfortable with optimizing and tuning queries using the profiler, execution plans, and in-depth know how of how the engine will process requests. I write Powershell scripts and modules to administer and maintain my databases and firmly believe in the art of automation.

I have experience writing and maintaining SQL Server Integration Services package for multiple business needs, but have extensive experience doing so to perform ETL work against an OLTP database to feed an OLAP database.

I have written code to generate dynamic reports using queries against the database that will execute as substantiated reports against a SQL Server Reporting Services server.
