"You shouldn't use plural names for tables"....a few paragraphs later "I was interested in onares different approach, so I created a seasons table". Make up your mind do you recommend the plural table names or not?

comment Log File over 400gigs…need to bring this database back to life
kevinsky - True, but some companies resort to stuff like this to save money. The better option would be to hire a dba or at least get short term help. I was able to fix this although it was rough. I had to actually restore the huge trans log file, then shrink it up. See the chat log for more details. Thanks Katherine, you get +1 :).

I already tried that before after a google search CREATE DATABASE SharePoint_Config ON (FILENAME = N'S:\Databases\SP2010\SharePoint_Config.mdf') FOR ATTACH_REBUILD_LOG GO

And here is the error I get when doing that: File activation failure. The physical file name "L:\Logs\Databases\SP2010\SharePoint_Config_log.LDF" may be incorrect. The log cannot be rebuilt because there were open transactions/users when the database was shutdown, no checkpoint occurred to the database, or the database was read-only. This error could occur if the transaction log file was manually deleted or lost due to a hardware or environment failure. Msg 1813, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 Could not open new database 'SharePoint_Config'. CREATE DATABASE is aborted.

I got that error when executing your command. The thing is there is no log file in that path because as I mentioned I cannot restore it as it is over 400 gigs!

I am having no luck with this...File activation failure. The physical file name "L:\Logs\Databases\SP2010\SharePoint_Config_log.LDF" may be incorrect. The log cannot be rebuilt because there were open transactions/users when the database was shutdown, no checkpoint occurred to the database, or the database was read-only. Hi Katherine, I guess management studio sees this database name already (SharePoint_Config). However, there is no log file associated with it because I never restored the log file. Because there is no log file I cannot expand the database. I can take a screen shot and post it to my question if you want?

Hi Katherine, I will try this out in about 10 minutes, waiting for the completion of some other databases but I will report back. Thank you
