Oracle startup error: “end-of-file on communication channel” The problem is that one of the blocks of the datafile was corrupt.. You should have taken the last version from the backup and then recover with the archive logs. This will restore the file to the state before it got corrupt. |

ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor There should be a stack trace in orcl_ora_214624.trc, post the beginning of the file, including the stack trace. Even better also post the contents of alert.log file after starting up |

RAM Impact on Oracle database operations awr won't help a lot as it only shows the system performance and not the performance of individual queries. It makes more sense to trace the individual session. |
