I am a Sr.SQL Server and SybaseASE DBA working for a company that makes software for Investment Banks globally as well as does Hosting business. I love working on performance tuning, migration, baselining, process automation, Cloud (Azure), High availability as well as Disaster recovery technologies, etc. I firmly support SQL Server community and so being on this site is my way of gently giving back to the community of what I have earned over the years.

comment Import Data from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2014
You can use BCP OUT and BULK INSERT or SSIS or if you need whole database restored, then use backup/restore .

Anything running on sql server side while the import export wizard is running? What is the wait associated ? You can use bcp out to export data to text file as well.

comment Why Model database in SQL Server is in FULL recovery mode
@Shanky it can be changed .. but whats the point ? Please refer to the link that I mentioned For backwards compatibility with earlier versions of Microsoft SQL Server, the recovery model of master can be set to FULL or BULK_LOGGED. However, BACKUP LOG is not supported for master. Therefore, even if the recovery model of master is changed to full or bulk-logged, the database continues to operate as if it were using the simple recovery model.

comment SQL Server DROP Database which is in a long roll back process
you can not kill a SPID that is doing a rollback .. Thats why I mentioned that you can check the status of rollback using kill spid with statusonly. You have to wait for the rollback to finish.

comment SQL Server DROP Database which is in a long roll back process
my point was to find out what SPID is locking the database exclusively. Kill that SPID, so you can drop the database.

Your best option is to fully read and understand The Data Loading Performance Guide. There are certain trace flags and partitioning options that you can leverage. Also refer to We Loaded 1TB in 30 Minutes with SSIS, and So Can You
