I am a Sr.SQL Server and SybaseASE DBA working for a company that makes software for Investment Banks globally as well as does Hosting business. I love working on performance tuning, migration, baselining, process automation, Cloud (Azure), High availability as well as Disaster recovery technologies, etc. I firmly support SQL Server community and so being on this site is my way of gently giving back to the community of what I have earned over the years.

Are you backing up directly to Newton share? Can you try to back up locally and then move the backups to network share.

comment Configuring multiple listeners on SQL Server 2012 through High Availability
multiple listeners for same availability group are supported. Check the output of sys.dm_tcp_listener_states to help you troubleshoot the issue. Also, can you post screenshot of the exact error that you are getting ?

comment Backup/restore using OPENDATASOURCE OR OPENROWSET
@AriyelCarver The problem is that everytime you post a comment, you are adding more info which for us becomes impossible to assume on ourside and then try to help you. Now as per your above comment, I would still recommend to use sqlcmd or powershell. They support script arguments as well. Do some research and they will prove to be valuable to you.

comment Using the sysadmin role with EXECUTE AS
@AaronBertrand agreed that this is only for this trace flag 1224 as this trace flag operates at table level. I wrote this answer as looking at the trace flag definition, it can be alternatively enabled using Alter Table.

comment Replication overview
You (here) and your boss are asking 2 different questions.but he wants something manual (using triggers and stored procedures) besides he wants a table to track every modification on the database. --> This can be done using Change Data Capture. Have a look at Comparing Change Data Capture and Change Tracking
