On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

I am nominating myself because I believe that I would try to be as objective as possible and open to any and all criticism while being moderator. I will treat everyone with respect.

I would like to nominate myself as a candidate for the DBA Stackexchange moderator's post.

Over the past couple of years I have considered nominating myself for the job, but refrained from doing so, because I considered myself being a newbie. It was my personal project to learn more about the community as a whole, before I considered standing in the footsteps of the moderators that came before.

I have been around a while now and I participate in both the main site and the meta site.

It is always a pleasure discussing topics about and around the database area with my fellow peers and it has been a great pleasure growing with the community over the past couple of years.

Many of you might not know me, but I would say that I am pretty moderate, considerate and neutral when it comes down to the nitty-gritty discussions. Even with some of the special community members.

If I have to write even more reasons why I should be nominated, then I'm probably the wrong person, because a lot of the time I'm just invisible cleaning up the queues.

May the best nominee win.

My answers to the questionnaire.

As a dedicated user of the site, I would like to become a member of the Database Administrators Moderator Team.

I have been a compassionate, fair, honest and open user of the site, which will continue if I'm elected Moderator, and I will treat each person using the site with kindness and grace, and humility.

I'm passionate about Database Administration, and feel my contributions here reflect that. I've been a member for over 8 years, have voted over 9,100 times, have raised nearly 1,400 helpful flags, and edited nearly 1,800 posts.

Review Queue statistics show me as a top-10 reviewer for all categories, except edits where I'm eleventh.

I have 573 accepted answers on this site, and feel my contributions have been of significant quality and value.
