I'm guessing you never actually query the [GUID] value directly and so it is of little use to cluster on it. That would cut your index footprint in half. You probably also want define a fill factor < 100 | |

What kind of backups? What is your archival process, how long, and why is that specifically an issue? Do you have a max storage size that you can't expand? Post the DDL for your indexes. You may be able to resolve this without having to make significant schema changes. | |
