Duplexing Backup Sets

... It is not possible to duplex backup sets to the fast recovery area.

A similar effect could be reachedachieved by setting the format to the location of FRA, but it will not be the same, as these files will not be accounted in the space usage of FRA.

configure device type disk parallelism 2;
configure channel device type disk format   '/fra/%U',   '/oracle_backup/%U';
configure datafile backup copies for device type disk to 2;
configure archivelog backup copies for device type disk to 2;
configure default device type to disk;

Example:Duplexing Backup Sets

... It is not possible to duplex backup sets to the fast recovery area.

A similar effect could be reached by setting the format to the location of FRA, but it will not be the same, as these files will not be accounted in the space usage of FRA.

run
{
  allocate channel c1configure device type disk;
disk parallelism allocate2;
configure channel c2 device type disk;
disk format backup recovery area'/fra/%U', format  '/tmporacle_backup/%U';
}configure datafile backup copies for device type disk to 2;

how would I configure the channels

We do not know your backup method, you can use DISK or SBT channel as well.

would I need to set parallelism

We do not know that. You can allocate multiple channels as above or set parallelism for the device type, but it is not a requirement:

configure archivelog backup copies for device type disk parallelismto 2;
configure default device type to disk;

backup database plus archivelog;

Example:

run
{
  allocate channel c1 device type disk;
  allocate channel c2 device type disk;
  backup recovery area format '/tmp/%U';
}
