However, the ordering of the columns within the index was incorrect. The column with the highest cardinality was last while the lowest cardinality was first. By switching it, the query not only completed, but completed within 6 minutes. The query plan was also substantially different with 100% on an index seek on the ExchangeServerLogTest table | |
