Jun 24, 2020 at 1:25 | comment | added | danblack | Recommend watching percona.com/resources/videos/… as a talk how to use tools to diagnose memory leaks. Recommend as a test enable memlock so that all initial memory is allocated and you can tell the difference between initial allocated buffers that are used, and a potential memory leak.

An alternate view on max_connect_errors is that a network gitch that results in 10 errors will leave your database inaccessible and you'll be scratching your head for ages to work out why you can't connect and restarting the database server "magicly fixes it". If you are confident of your network/firewall rules, there's no need for any low setting IMHO. To check you're limits have had an effect check /proc/$(pidof mysqld)/limits . If you are changing the file limit in a systemd, you'll need to alter the service with LimitNOFILE.

Apr 1, 2020 at 1:10 | comment | added | enyceexdanny | Also, when checking the file-max, it's currently showing: more /proc/sys/fs/file-max 3285843
Apr 1, 2020 at 0:56 | comment | added | enyceexdanny | So do I change both fs.file-max = 128000, soft nofile 128000, hard nofile 128000?
