H everyone. I would like to ask a question regarding recovery processrecovery process while restoring databaserestoring database operation. Let's say I restoredrestored a full backup with a full backup with norecoveryNORECOVERY followed by restoring two t-log backups with restoring two t-log backups with norecoveryNORECOVERY. Lastly, I am going to restore the last 3rd t-log backup with restore the last 3rd t-log backup with recovery keywordRECOVERY keyword.

The question is: when I restore the last t-log backup with recoveryRECOVERY keyword, does SQL Server perform redoredo as well as undo phasesundo phases or just does undo phaseundo phase?

It seems to me that when we restore backup with norecoveryNORECOVERY keyword, SQL Server also performs redo phaseredo phase. The same thing with restoring t-log backups with standbywith standby keyword. In this case, SQL Server creates a separate file with the name that contains only "undo" not any "redo".
