The unique keys are correct as they are, and SQL_MODE is STRICT_TRANS_TABLES,ERROR_FOR_DIVISION_BY_ZERO,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION , anyway I have already found the 'cause of the problem, which was confirmed on MariaDB's bug tracker by the devs.
