I have only been using SSRS for a few weeks now and from what I have seen, I know that we create a dataset, define parameters (I do it by using a paramaterized stored procedure and linking that to a dataset so it automatically recognizes the parameters), and once they are typed, you hit the 'view report' button.
But I was wondering if there is a way to have a report generated as we type the parameters. For example, if, say, I have a LIKE in my main query for the dataset, which is linked to a parameter. So as the user types a few characters or even a single character, is there a way to have results appear as each character is typed without having to hit the 'view report' button?
If it is not possible in SSRS, what other softwares/options do I have to achieve this for data stored in SQL Server?
