I am relatively new to Teradata. I was told by my Teradata consultant to create a super user or a role for DBAs to use, in stead of using DBC. I tried the following syntax, but kept getting errors:

*** Failure 5613 GRANT OPTION cannot be granted to a role. Statement# 1, Info =0

grant all on "ZZ_TEST" to "ROLE_DBA" with grant option;

Where role_dba is a DBA role, zz_test is a database, and I am using DBC to execute this command.

Any suggestion where the syntax is wrong?

  • Remove 'with grant', it is not intended to be used when assigning a privilege to a role. – RobPaller Jan 18 '16 at 2:53
