So I have a working audit trigger that tracks inserts, updates and deleted as well as the PK of the table and it's value. My problem is, since our apps use app accounts use an app ID, it's difficult to find out "who done it". While this should have been something our developers should have done at creation of the application, that is not the case. So instead of rebuilding the whole app, they want me to resolve it on my end. We are adding a new column to every table called transactionID, this transactionID will be a GUID that can be traced back to the user. I will also be adding this column transactionID to the audit table.
Basically, what I need to do is log the data change to the audit table and then insert the transactionID from that same row that was modified into the row in the audit table. I'm having a difficult time thinking through the logic of this. Below is the trigger code. Any help is greatly appreciated!
