I have an Oracle 11g database on a RedHat server and also have MySQL database on another RedHat server. I want to create a link to the MySQL server from the Oracle which allows me to execute queries in MySQL from Oracle.
Is this possible?
This will work for Oracle 10 and 11g to MySQL 4.1, 5.0, 5.1 or 6.0. There are limitations both in performance and what you can do. My understanding is
I think the only way to do that is to write a UDF in Java. Oracle itself won't be able to connect to a MySQL server.
