We have two systems, one is a legacy server (SQL Server 2014) and other one is cloud-based Azure DB (SQL Server 2017).

We have the same tables in Azure as in the legacy system.

How can we check if all the data/columns/records matches with legacy server database table?

I tried CHECKSUM, HASH_BYTES, BINARY_CHECKSUM are some solutions, however not sure they right solution. Kindly suggest a solution with minimum efforts. We have 200+ columns, it is cumbersome to compare in this way.

  • You can use some 3rd party tools like redgate or apexsql, or even Visual Studio with some limitations. – McNets Feb 7 at 9:44
