Inside of an SSIS package (.DTSX) I found a connection string similar to this:

Data Source=<some-datasource-name>
Initial Catalog=<table-name>
Provider=SQLNCLI10.1
Integrated Security=SSPI
Auto Translate=False
Application Name=SSIS-Package-{some-uuid}<Server-or-instance-name>.<table-name>

It almost seems to me like it registers with the SQL Server instance so that not just any old thing can connect to it, but I'm new to SSIS packages, so I'm unsure about that.

Is this an OLEDB connection string?

Is there any way to tell if the package itself was generated from SQL Server via an import/export or if it was generated from Visual Studio?
