I'm having an issue with the migration between an Oracle database and an Azure Database using SSMA v7.10.0.

I can connect, convert the schema and synchronize with the Azure database with no problem. But when I start the Migrate data process I have an error that seems to be related to the connection to the Azure database:

Migrating data...
Analyzing metadata...
Preparing table xxxx.yyyyy...
Preparing data migration package...
Starting data migration Engine
Starting data migration...
 Exception during processing: A network-related or instance-specific
error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The
server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance
name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote
connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The requested name is
valid, but no data of the requested type was found.)

Data migration operation has finished.
  0 table(s) successfully migrated.
  0 table(s) partially migrated.
  1 table(s) failed to migrate.

Do you have any idea what the issue can be?

  • To add more information, we use an Oracle database in 11gR2. We have the same issue with the last version of SSMA 8.2. – J. SANSANO Jun 5 at 11:16
