I don't understand why my mysql eat a lot of memory even though I set innodb_buffer_poll_size to around 50%

  • @EkkaiImwe SHOW GLOBAL STATUS LIKE 'threads_connected'; result is a clue when the count is greater than SHOW GLOBAL STATUS LIKE 'threads_running'; Your SHOW GLOBAL STATUS report had 79 and 2 respectively. This is the remaining connected count, processes that timeout will decrease the threads_connected count at expiration. Your wait_timeout is 3600 seconds (1 hour).     Yes when i compared it right now is 150 for thread_connected and 8 thread_running, but I still can not see the memory consumption because of this. Our programmer said Mysql can handle many persistent connection (refer to mysqlserverteam.com/mysql-connection-handling-and-scaling he said) so it should be okai. And right now there is no fragmentables in our database pastebin.com/1FMi0bvU (findfragtables) – Ekkai Imwe Jul 9 '19 at 2:34

    if I increase the physical memory say to 32 GB can quickly solve this problem ? Or maybe the huge memory consumption come from mysql memory leak (in mysql 5.7.25 they fix a lot of memory leak) – Ekkai Imwe Jul 9 '19 at 2:36

    We have another Mysql server with 139 thread connected and 4 thread running (similiar like this case right) but the mysql memory consumption is only 8% so I still wonder is this thread connection vs thread running is the main cause for huge memory consumption – Ekkai Imwe Jul 9 '19 at 3:10
