I have my developer team who uses the data from Change data capture from SQL Server to extract data and load to a different database system.

To convert the LSN format within CDC they are using the code from Robert Davis's Day 11 of 31 Days of Disaster: Converting LSN Formats

However I am of the view this code does not include Schema binding tagged to it which might cause an extra overhead.

I came across a post from @MaxVernon discussing how to convert an LSN from Hex to Decimal. However, I am not sure if Max's method can be used since I am not able to prove the one with schema binding performs better.

Is there any performance difference between 2 links for converting LSN from hex to decimal and how can I measure the performance difference between the two before convincing app team to change.
