I am currently trying to set up a testing environment that includes 3 MongoDB database deployments and one server with an installation of the MongoDB Ops Manager.

I succesfully installed the MongoDB Ops Manager and I am trying right now to create deployments, by installing the MMS Automation Agent on every MongoDB server.

I followed the instructions on the Ops Manager Website and:

  1. I downloaded the mms automation agent from the Ops Manager server on port 8080 and installed it on every mongodb server

  2. Generated an API and Project Key and included those in the config files of the deployments

  3. Pressed on "Try it" in the Ops Manager to try and create a connection between the Ops Manager server and the MongoDB server.

Obviously it didn't work out and upon reading the logs of the MongoDB server that are included in /var/log/mongodb-mms-automation I noticed following errors:

[2019/10/18 07:31:54.467] [.error] [main/components/agent.go:LoadClusterConfig:170] [07:31:54.467] Error retrieving cluster config from '[Ops Manager IP]:8080/agents/api/automation/conf/v1/5d9ee1205f3afd47628be5cf?ah=server-2-coehw4ah&ahs=server-2-coehw4ah&av=10.2.6.5879&aos=linux&aa=x86_64&ab=64&at=1571227559717'

[2019/10/18 07:31:54.467] [.error] [cm/main/cm.go:mainLoop:348] [07:31:54.467] Error loading desired cluster configs : [07:31:54.467] Error retrieving cluster config from '[Ops Manager IP]:8080/agents/api/automation/conf/v1/5d9ee1205f3afd47628be5cf?ah=server-2-coehw4ah&ahs=server-2-coehw4ah&av=10.2.6.5879&aos=linux&aa=x86_64&ab=64&at=1571227559717'

[further errors have been omitted...]

Taking the last error for example and executing curl on one of the MongoDB servers, returns following error:

curl [Ops Manager IP]:8080/agents/api/automation/conf/v1/5d9ee1205f3afd47628be5cf?ah=server-2-coehw4ah&ahs=server-2-coehw4ah&av=10.2.6.5879&aos=linux&aa=x86_64&ab=64&at=1571227559717

-> "...{"message":"Bad request: Credentials missing"}"

Reading the logs on the Ops Manager Server that are included in /opt/mongodb/mms/logs show in return following message:

"GET /agents/api/automation/conf/v1/5d9ee1205f3afd47628be5cf?ah=server-2-coehw4ah HTTP/1.1" 400 46 "-" "curl/7.58.0"

So apparently I am missing out on some sort of authentication (as the 400 HTTP error message suggests), but I really cant tell what I am missing.
