In my company we have an (old) MS Access software. (Used mainly to manage customers & invoices). In the software it's possible to choose the data file to work against (.mdb file).
The goal is to use a remote .mdb file (remote = accessible via the Internet). Because many workers now work from home and cannot access the shared hard drive in our company local server where we host the DB file.
My questions are:
- Is it possible to make a secured connection in the access program to a remote mdb file? (Then I'll host it in AWS/Azure/GCloud...?)
- Is it possible to host all the software + the DB in a remote terminal and access it locally from many workstations and work in parallel?
- Any other solution that will make the goal possible?
