Need to know if there is any possible way to find the total no. of reads and writes happening to my mongodb environment.

We are using Mongodb 3.4 version in a sharded environment and need to find the total no. of reads and writes happened for a specific time period(maybe 1 day).

mongostats and mongotop are not useful to get the reads & writes on a daily basis. I have tried from the mongodb logs and I was able to find the writes(insert + update + delete) but unable to get the no. of reads.

We use Ops Mgr(3.4) but it only gives the average read/write and not the exact count.

So my need is to get the total no of reads and writes happening in Mongodb for a time period(1 hour, 1 day, 1 week)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Kenny

  • There is probably something appropriate in server stats. – D. SM Aug 5 '20 at 4:25
  • It seems there is no direct way to get the info. The only option we found is to get it from the mongod logs – Kenny Aug 20 '20 at 8:31
