I've got a PSA mongodb which I'm restoring starting from a backup made on a standalone installation.

I set the PRIMARY machine in the --host parameter but the replication does not start on the SECONDARY host.

What is the problem? Is there a way to manually start replication? I've checked the rs.status() but everything seems to be ok.

  • What rs.printReplicationInfo(), rs.printSlaveReplicationInfo() tell you? Do clocks of all machine at right time? – JJussi Aug 4 at 4:49
  • It does not give any error. I think the problem is the local database. It seems that local is not replicated by default. – Manuel Castro Aug 4 at 17:29
  • Link to documentation you are following. – D. SM Aug 5 at 4:10
  • Yes, local database is not replicated, it's local for every node. Those commands should not give any error, but they should give you answer. If you don't get any answer, what describes current situation at the replica set, you don't have replica set initialized. If you start from standalone, you must initialize and define replica set. – JJussi Aug 5 at 8:45
  • Ok, it gives me responses for both commands (oplog event time and syncedTo). So it seems everything ok, the problem was with the local db. – Manuel Castro Aug 5 at 12:29
