I have SQL Server 2016. One of the table is having 9.24 million records. One of the stats (no filter on stats) on it is getting auto updated by SQL Server with sampling rate of 1 % (120023 rows).
As per the formula mentioned in below URL, sampling % should be around 5 % but that is not the case. I want to know why? Am I missing something? Or there is no standard formula for it?
Also just wanted to verify the threshold (modification counter) for updating the stats in SQL Server 2016 is (mentioned below) or something else will cause the delay / premature update of stats (I know REBUILDING INDEXES will update stats indeed)?
Threshold = √((1000)*Current table cardinality)
