I have MySQL db files *.frm, *.MYD and *.MYI. But my newly installed MySQL only support *.ibd files.

I throwed mySchema folder onto C:\ProgramData\MySQL\MySQL Server 8.0\Data and restarted MySQL service, it didn't work.

I throwed mySchema folder onto This is not enough, your database and its objects must be registered in system tablespace. – Akina Sep 8 at 10:43
  • Do you still have your previous environment? It would probably be better to go back to it, do some preparatory work there. Then use mysqldump to migrate to MySQL 8. – Rick James Sep 8 at 13:19
