I have to load some stuff(data) onto a "persistent storage database." The assignment says: 'Please use some sort of network-accessed database like MySQL or Cassandra, but it may be any such database.

So I have a basic website in which a user can click a button and save stuff thats displaying on the screen. I was thinking of using MySQL which is already installed on my MAC. Then create a simple table, and allowing the client to load stuff onto there, all the saving will be on my MySQL localhost db account which I connect using root.

Can I do that? Is that what the assignment is asking or allows?

"Persistent" in simple terms means it can survive a system restart, meaning a persistent storage database doesn't keep all its data in volatile memory but saves it to disk or somesuch.
