Here is the error I get. Can't start MySQL server 8 on ubuntu 20. I haven't backed up my db so can't purge all data as well. I tried reinstalling MySQL, and didn't work.

  • What changes did you made before the error ? What does systemctl status mysql.service and journalctl -xe shows ? Aug 5 at 10:24
  • I added both of them

  • Does tail -f /var/log/mysqld.log or cat /var/log/mysqld.log shows anything ? Do you have disk space problems check with df -h Aug 5 at 10:37
  • Those files don't exist

  • And for the other questions What changes did you made before the error ? or the disk memory ? Aug 5 at 10:42
