You created a user in the ORCLPDB pluggable database. After that you tried logging in to the root container. Try logging in to the ORCLPDB pluggable database using its service, example:

CONNECT COW/CHICKEN@LOCALHOST:1521/ORCLPDB

  • SQL> connect COW/CHICKEN@LOCALHOST:1521/ORCLPDB ERROR: ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor

  • @sqltracy The ORCLPDB pluggable database should have a default service with its name registered in the listener. Can be checked with lsnrctl status. Feb 23, 2023 at 13:30
  • @sqltracy The domain is included in the service name: CONNECT COW/CHICKEN@LOCALHOST:1521/ORCLPDB.local.tld Feb 24, 2023 at 14:42
